Jamal Othman

I am 22 years old, my mother Gertrud Othman is swiss and my father Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Othman is Malay. 16 years ago I started figure skating, I've always been trained by the same coach, Jacqueline Kiefer.

Besides I have worked with different international Figure Skating coaches and Choreographers: Michèle Colberg (Switzerland), Victor Kudriavtsev, Marina Kudriavtseva, Alla Kapranova (Moscow, Russia); Herbert Wiesinger, Almut Peyper (Germany), Tom Dickson, Tom Zakraijek (USA).

Long year practice and full dedication to this beautiful sport have let me celebrate quite some success:

I am reigning Swiss National Champion

2-time Swiss Junior Champion

3-time Quilification for the ISU Junior Grand-Prix Final

4-time European Championship participant, best rank: 8th 2007

5-time World Championship participant best rank: 18th 2007as well as Participant of the XX. Olympic Wintergames, Torino 2006

Besides Skating, Dance is my second big passion. I've been taking classical ballet class since the age of 8; later on I took classes in many different styles, such as Jazz, Hip Hop, Tango and Salsa. Two years ago I started to work intensively with an internationally rewarded contemporary choreographer and dance teacher, Etienne Frey (Switzerland). I will also start the studies of contemporary dance at the Zürcher hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts) in Switzerland.

I am very much looking forward to the workshop at Pyramid Ice, and I hope to be able to work with many of you local skaters. Since I am half Malay, it's a great honor and a superb pleasure to bring the amazing art of Figure Skating closer to Malaysia.
